Cardboard furniture × autonomous mobile robots, for a new, ever-changing living space

ASIBA Creative Incubation Program 2nd
2024.04.01 -

As architecture and cities become smarter, we need to think about how humans, AI, and robots can share space. AMAP is a project aiming to realize a new kind of living space built around autonomously mobile architecture. Through developing “Suwarunba,” a case study combining cardboard furniture with an autonomous mobile robot, the project aims to implement furniture and living spaces that take advantage of easy processing, reconfiguration, and movement. Designing space on the premise that it will change breaks the fixed assumptions of real estate and redefines architecture itself.
